Missing AME CS6 Presets

Jun 21, 2012 11:57 PM

Not sure why I cannot chose Quicktime or AVI in Media Encoder. I can render out any way I want from Premiere. I can render/export directly from Premiere, but when I queue it out to AME it defaults to F4V and won't even give me an option for Quicktime (DNxHD) or AVI (Cineform).

Here are my options in Premiere (normal)

Here it is in AME once it's been queued out from Premiere.

What gives? I have CS6 updated completely as of today, 6/22.

I read recently that someone opened Encore, found it deactivated (or not yet activated), and then activated it.  When they did that, the proper list of presets returned to the AME.

For some reason AME is not getting activated.  AME does passive activation.  on launch it checks to see if any parent product (Like PPro) has been activated or not.  If it finds out that PPro is activated (and ppro has higher level of support) then it not only activates AME, but also provides the additional formats like AVI, QT, MPEG, etc.

We have seen a few users having this issue, but have not been able to reproduce this issue.  I wonder if there is another 3rd party application on your system that is interfering with activation of higher number of presets.

curious what you installed.  Was it Production Premium, Master collection, or just PPro family?  Also was this a Creative Cloud Membership (subscription) install or is it a Boxed/Trial/ESD version of the application that you installed?

Please don't double-post.  I deleted your duplicate topic.

If I had a solution, I'd give it to you.  Since Nariman is an Adobe employee and likely part of the video apps team, and since he already told you:

We have seen a few users having this issue, but have not been able to reproduce this issue.

It's unlikely there even is a solution.  You could always try wiping your hard drive clean, reinstalling Windows and then reinstalling only the CS6 Suite, but there's no guarantee that would work, either.

    Hi Toomany3,

I spent a good portion of the day trying to repro the bug again but all formats and codecs show up for me.

Could you do me a favor and reinstall Premiere one more time? It would help a lot if you:

    1.   Deactivate ppro

    2.   Uninstalle ppro

    3.   Install ppro from http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_pro&loc=e n_us

    4.   During installation, do not enter your serial and run it in trial mode. (preferably with new AdobeID but not necessary)

    5.   Rtart Premiere and queue something to AME. => You should see all formats present

    6.   After you verified that all formats are there, restart PPro and serialize with you serial number.

    7.   Report back here

If you will still see the issue, I will work with you directly to solve it.

Requesting the users who are facing this problem to please  help us by mailing the amt3.log and oobelib.log form your /tmp folder (mac) or %temp% folder (win).

Please mail it to amrita@adobe.com since its difficult to view it on a forum.

May I add something, I ran into exactly these issues for no good reason, I installed, enetered serial and activated etc but had the same problem. I fixed it using Seth's reply (number 15) in the forum here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4540908

All runs now and I got my list of exports back - HOWEVER, it is missing AVI - that - I cannot explain and it is a real hinderence.

Has the same problems and this solution worked for me.

Navigate to the following folder: /Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CS6/Adobe Media Encoder CS6.app/Contents/Resources/txt/

In there you will probably find a file called AddExporterList.txt. Make a copy of it to your desktop for safe keeping...then delete the original.

Deleting that file fixed the issue for me, but if for some reason it doesn't for you then copy the desktop located file back to the original folder.

    Good luck!
