Flash Menu Template Assistance

I am new to flash and trying to create a simple Flash Navigation Menu for my Site. I followed a Tutorial for creating one, but when I edit the text for 1 button, ALL the buttons change. How do I change the labels on the buttons?

Can Someone please guide me, and keep in mind I am entirely new to flash.

It sounds like you have symbols inside your buttons that are being shared by all of them. That means when you change that symbol, it changes in all the buttons.

If you want all the buttons to display different text while you are editing the file, you need to create new symbols of each one and do not share other symbols within them.

If you don't care about what text displays while editing, then make them dynamic textfields and assign the text to them when the file runs.

I am still having troubles. Grrr... I am usually VERY quick on the uptake. This is kicking my butt though.

Create one button. Then create another button, but do not do it using anything you used in the first button that is a symbol in the library. Continue on with all the buttons in that manner.
