Hi,
I have a problem restoring the Photoshop Elements catalog.
The old computer is broken, but I have access to the HDD.
It was running Photoshop Elements 10 on Windows XP.
I have a new computer with Windows 7 and have also installed Photoshop Elements 10 there.
Which files or folders do I have to copy from the old computer's hard drive to which folder on the new one to be able to open the Photoshop Elements catalog? I did not find any workinig solution for this yet.
Thank you in advance

I would buy a USB casing for using your old HDD as an external drive. Otherwise you may probably use the old HDD as a second internal drive.
You'll have to do a search to locate in which folder of your old drive a file named 'catalog.pse10db' is situated.
From the PSE10 organizer of your new disk, do /file/catalog then check 'custom location' and browse to that folder. You should be able to open the old catalog.
If you want to move the catalog and pictures see :

You need to copy the entire catalog directory and its subdirectories to a location of your choosing on your new PC. Then, in Organizer, you can use its Catalog Manager to look for the catalog file in a "Custom Location".
You'll also need to copy all your photos onto your new PC. When you open the catalog in the Organizer, all the photos will be labelled as "missing", so you use "Reconnect All Missing Files" to point to the root location of where they are on your new computer.
I don't recommend keeping the catalog itself on an external drive because of possible performance issues.
