Where do I get detailed instruction for installing 5 discs of a comb. P/shop & Pr. Elements 10 pack?

Jun 26, 2012 11:25 AM

* I have purchased a combined Photoshop Elements 10 & Premiere Elements 10 pack (5 discs but they do not say which is what).

* I installed the 1st disc on my Dell Studio 1555 (with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) as the Photoshop Elements 10 disc 1 - and entered the serial no. which it accepted. I finished the installation (it did not ask for the 2nd disc to be inserted to continue installation).

* Then I tried to install the 2nd disc but it asks me to remove the 1st disc installation including the serial no. How do I progress from here now? I intend to install all 5 discs in this computer.

Can someone please help? Kindly take into account my specific case and tell me the way forward.

You only need disk 2 for 64 bit systems. Follow up with disk 4 if you need the content.

However if you have instaled the 32 bit version of Premiere you will need to deactivate it before starting over.

    See my previous messages.

since you have  windows 7  64 bit

you use  disc 1 for pse 10, and disc 2  for pre 10  to install the  products
    disc 3 is mac installer
disc 4 is the content disc  for  windows
disc 5 is content disc  for mac

you don't need to use all 5 disc to install the  products

Dear Mr Partha Ghosh, if you are unable to follow my previous detailed instructions for deactivation and reinstallation I suggest you speak directly with an Adobe representative. However it would have been helpful if you had been able to give a follow up reply. We provide this help freely and independently of Adobe and over time we have to develop a thick skin, but it’s still nice to be appreciated.

i own Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 and the previous version (PEPE 9)

    i have windows 7 home premium, 64-bit

    i believe Seyersert is correct

if you are installing Photoshop Elements 10 in a Win7 64-bit, you should use the disc1; Photoshop Elements doesn't have a 64-bit version so regardless of your OS version, Photoshop Elements 10 should be installed as a 32-bit and disc 1 has it.

for Premiere Elements 10 installation in a 64-bit machine, use Disc2.

i don't use all other 3 discs. they have their own use but i don't think i need them.

The package says start with disk 2 for 64 bit windows.

Although the print on each disk is rather small.

I have every sympathy with users who struggle with this problem. Whatever possessed Adobe to combine three operating system and five disks, I will never know.

The download for purchases from the adobe store is even worse, containing a multitude of 7z files and applications.

Someone in marketing deserves a kick up the butt!

You are permitted two activations e.g. one desktop and one laptop, or two laptops etc.

You could also have one Windows and one Mac.

N.B. There is no 64bit support for Premiere Elements on Mac OS X

Open the Editor on the first computer and on the menu click Help >> Deactivate

As long as you deactivate you don't have to uninstall.

    Hi Partha

Yes that’s correct, on the Dell Studio laptop deactivate both programs in the Editor application by clicking Help à Deactivate…

For the Dell Vostro you can install both PSE and PRE from disk 2; then use disk 4 to add the content.

If you also wish to install on the iMac, use disk 3 to install both PSE and PRE, followed by disk 5 to add the content.

To deactivate PSE simply click the Edit button on the welcome screen, there is no need to start a new project like in PRE, the Editor will launch automatically.

Here's a thread that describes the contents of each disk in a five-disk Elements pack:
