I cannot select photos from the  keyword list

When I try to select photos in the Library section from the keyword list all goes well until I get to the "R***" words and below - all the way to the "Z***" words.. From "R" words on LR will not allow me to select any keyword.

When I ust the Filter, I can select any of the words below the "R****" words.

 

Is it possible that there is a limit to the number of keywords allowed in the keyword list?

    Gary,

     

    On windows there is (was?) a bug that would cause keywords to not work correctly toward the end of a list where too many were showing in the window. Try collapsing some of your hierarchies, if you have them.

    Thank you Hal, I think this is the problem, obviously NOT fixed yet since I have the latest version of LR4. I deleted allot of keywords that didn't make a hill of beans, combined many into a heirarchy and now I can go further down the  list. I guess its gonna take some time to finish this off.

    But, thanks for the heads up.

    What version of Windows are you on and what is your Lr version?

    I'm asking because - in the past - I have observed the same or a similar problem that is now gone.

    What I observed was that I could not scroll down to the end of the keyword list. Depending on the number of keywords I could only scroll to the T's or maybe to the W's. The remedy then was to collapse hierarchical keywords; when I did that I was able to scroll down to the end of my keywords. It almost seemed that the keyword panel had only a limited length, and Adobe at the time suggested that this was a "feature" of Windows that would not allow to expand the panel past a certain point.

    This was under Win XP and in versions of Lr prior to Lr4.

     

    I now run Win 7 64-bit and Lr 4.1 and I have not observed this problem any more.

    I am sorry, I should have included that. I am on Windows 7-64. And the problem still shows up though after collapsing some of the heirarchies, or creating some, it goes a little further.
