Unable to Select an object in IDCS6

I'm reformatting an existing European brochure from A4 to Letter size. All is going fine, with one exception.

 

I am having trouble selecting an object (as if it was locked, which it may well be). Everything in this document is in a single layer. I'm able to select and modify all other elements, native or placed, but I can't seem to get this item to select! I didn't see any way to unlock it, but I am probably missing something. When I hide the layer in the layers palette, everything goes to white, so I know it is on that layer.

 

I'm on  a Mac, OSX 10.6.8, IDCS6. The original file was created using ID too (not sure what version).

    Open the layers panel and look for locked objects.

    I figured it out. It set on a Master Page....forgot to check....Duh! All's well that ends well.

    Do you have view frames enabled? If so, and I highly recommend it, you would see that the master items have dotted outlines for the frames.

    No, I didn't have frames enabled, but I do now and they'll stay that way! Thanks for the great tip.
