My newly installed Acrobat X keeps locking up and won't scan anything--just throws a lot of errors

I was desperately trying to scan an important document tonight, but my newly installed Acrobat X, which is part of my Creative Cloud, not only won't scan in black and white or color it keeps throwing error messages and then the program locks up with no way to close it at all other than rebooting. I hope someone can help! Thank you. I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall it, but I don't know if it will help. I have no problems with 9.

    Within Acrobat X Pro try doing a repair and see if this fixes your problem. Go to the Help menu and select Repair Acrobat Installation.
