Error Message after installing Adobe Reader X: 0x8a81bad5 ram cannot "read"

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

After I have successfully download the Adobe Reader X software and tried to open a pdf file,the following error message appeared:

 

0x8a81bad5 command code "0x8a82bad5" memory/ram. The memory/ram cannot "read"

 

I cannot open the old pdf files, it there a solution to solve this problem or I need to use older version.

 

For you information, I am using Windox XP (32-bit).

 

I would be much grateful to receive further advice to solve the aforesaid problem.

    What are "old PDF fiels"? What is their source? If reader can't open them, they could be damaged or out of spec or have something else with them going on... If it affects all files no matetr the source, then perhaps consider reinstalling Reader...

    Thanks for your quick reply.  The old pdf files refer to previously save pdf files of older Adobe reader version.  I have tried to remove the Adobe Reader X program and restalled again but still fail to have it run successfuly.  I did found out from my colleague who have download the prorgm successfully that the top tool bar was missing when I open the program.  Any further hints/solution can help me to solve this problem?

    Have you checked your hardware acceleration options in the prefs? Might be an incompatibility with your graphics driver. Also make sure your screen res meets the minimum requirements. Beyond that I'm not sure what to advise, but you may find soem answers in teh Reader forums...

    The toolbar and the menu bar can be toggled with F8 and F9.
