My CS6 trial seems to be stuck: The .dmg file says "invalid checksum", and the Installer assistant shows it's "Extracting-This may take a while". But the while has been many hours, many restarts of the Assistant, always with these same resutls. Also rebooted my MacBookAir, running lastest O/S. The Pause and Quit buttons to the right of the download progress bar will not activate, either.
If location makes a difference I am in Hamburg, Germany, at a hotel, and am a California resident.
This is likely due to choosing a download location such as the Applications folder which the Adobe Download Assistant does not have permission to write too. You can reset the download experience by completing step 1 in Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assista nt.html#main_Solution_1. Please choose the default location of your User folder when reinitiating the download.
Alternately you can follow the steps listed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.
Thanks for the reply, Jeff, but no, I do read instructions, sometimes even before all else fails, and I had created a folder on my desktop for the DL. Something got florfled in the last seconds of the d/l I suspect, and the whole enchilada was there, but not the last few bits.
Anyway, deleting all the User Profile bits specced in your links allowed me to re-initiate the full d/l, (took 8 hours on a foreign hotel connection) and I am up and running with it now. I again created a folder on the D/T to receive the d/l so I could monitor its progress better than the bar on the ADA (download assistant), which I used due to the likelihood of timing out.
