Moving from macbookPro to iMac

I just oved over today to LR4.1 from Aperture, What I would like to know is if I imported and sorted out photo on my laptop and want to edit on my iMac, how can I move my photo's and data and rating etc to my iMac? So I don't have to do that again

The most direct way would be to use File > Export as Catalog. Choose an external hard drive as the save location. Then move the external drive to the other computer and copy the files over (or just use the external drive). Simply double-click on the catalog file to have it launch in Lightroom.

The warning that goes along with Export as Catalog is that Publish Services don't go along for the ride. If that's an issue, either now or in the future, here's the alternative: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/2009/02/28/how-do-i-move-lightroom-to-a- new-computer/
