Properties & tools are greyed out

Hi,

 

Whenever I open a new document in Flash CS5 Pro, the properties & tools panels are greyed out. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

    new document  "Action Script 3.0" or new document "Action Script File"

     

    Action Script File is only code then all panel are disableds

    Thanks for the reply, esdebon, but no matter what type of new document I open, the properties & tools are greyed out.
