Title Case with Articles in Lowercase

Is there a script or a way to get true Title Case? Illustrator caps every first letter. Seems word does the same, can't believe that there still is not an option for this.

    they do it like that because it is easier that way (for them).

    Thanks that helps.

     

    Would be really great to see this feature in illustrator, along with the ability to add/delete words that don't get capitals.

    It could be scripted...I'll keep it in mind, I'll add it to the super long ToDo List.

    Cool Carlos sorry to be adding to your list again.

     

    If you worked for Adobe, then we may actually get a better upgrade rather than these .x releases posing as version upgrades.

    Hi Mike, here you go, I found a function by a gentleman called John Resig and jumped the line and adapted it to work with illustrator. It doesn't have options to add/delete words, the list is hard coded but it has most of the common words, you can edit it manually if needed.

    Finally got a chance to try this, worked once I changed tools form text tool to pointer tool. Thanks and going to share this one at work.

    Any chance you could get this to work with the text tool?  We have a very strict brand standards for leading, and works best if we keep all text in the same container.

     

    Great job on this script, should be part of Illustrator. I just updated the exclusions to the chicago manual of style prepositions, articles, conjunctions.

    sorry I forgot to mention to select your text frames before running (regular Black Arrow selection).

     

    what do you mean?, how would like to run it? with the cursor blinking? or with some text selected?

    I would like to run the script on a selection of text, as with Illustrator's type >> change case.

    Carlos: Wanted to report that have been using this quite often today. Found that the script was not working on a text box (Because someone put a group on this, so in summary wodl be great if this can work on text selections).

     

    ALL: Anyone notice any words missing from the list, please chime in. Used wiki to find all the strange prepositons.

    Mike, now it works with

     

    textFrame selection(s)

    and textRange selection

    textRange.gif

     

    what is it what you're having problems with? what other scenarios do you have to work with?
