Printer not in Editor

Elements 10 ... does not offer to scan from the Edit mode. However, I can scan from the Organizer mode.

Canon Wireless MX340

Windows 7

64 bit.

Do I need a plug in to make the editor recognize my printer?

In Elements 10, you may need to copy the Adobe TWAIN driver, if your scanner requires it, from the optional plug-ins folder to the Import-Export folder in the main plug-ins folder.

You will need to copy the plug-in Twain_32.8ba

Copy from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Optional Plug-Ins\Import-Export

Copy to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\en_US\Plug-Ins\Import-Export.

N.B. on Windows 32 bit systems navigate to Program Files. Replace en_US with your own geographic location if necessary.

If you don't need to use the old TWAIN interface, simply use File...Import...WIA Support and begin scanning, as long as your scanner is connected and powered on.

Ken,

I tried that and this is the message I got when I went to the WIA command
...
No WIA compatible devices were detected. Check that your device is plugged
to the computer and that is power is turned on.

It is a wireless Canon MX340 and it works in the Organize mode but it
Editor cannont see it.

Any suggestions.

Since the Organizer uses the TWAIN interface, the quickest solution will be for you to use the TWAIN interface as 99jon detailed.

When Win7 reports that no WIA devices are detected, it means that there is a problem with your scanner's wireless configuration. Can you scan using MS Paint?
