Does your disc work on different machine ?

Also what is the version of the Mac lion you are on ?

it's 10.7.2

yes it's working on my old sony vaio, but it's mac version too..

actually it says on the box that it requires os x 10.5 or 10.6.. so it will not go on my 10.7????

It should work on the Mac 10.7 , you can copy the content of the DVD on the desktop and then check,

Also check are you DVD driver updated.

omg.. how to do those things.. i'm new to mac and i can't even find icon for dvd drive. it should show in the finder right? dvd driver plays dvds so doesnt it mean that is fine and doesnt need drivers?

The installer does not launch automatically you need to open the disc and the launch the installer for Lightroom 3. If you do not see the disc on your desktop then I would recommend going under the Finder menu, next to the Apple, and selecting preferences. Once in the preferences window turn on the option to show CDs, DVDs, and iPods on your desktop.
