Convert .MOD to .MOV (16:9)

Nov 18, 2012 11:46 PM

Trying to convert a .MOD file to .MOV.  Client gave me SD chip with raw files (shot SD 16:9).  AME only recognizes the source as 4:3.   Don't see any preferences or settings to force "Source" to 16:9.   Don't think Export settings will fix this.   Have tried several combinations and it just does weird stuff to the output.  Any ideas?  (Using CS4 AME 4.2.0.006 on Mac OX 10.6.8)

You can change the pixel aspect ratio of source files in AME using the Interpret Footage dialog (File > Interpret Footage...)

I'm not exactly sure when this features was added to AME tho', it might not be there in CS4.

I believe that Interpret Footage was added sometime in the CS5 timeframe and is not in AME CS4. Interpret Foortage is in Premiere Pro CS4, though, if you have that installed. You could also download the AME CS6 trial if you needed to get this done before your copy of CS6 arrives.
