Serial# Fine on Install - Get Error Message Now

Rebuilding an old XP install - reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 5.05 from CD - it loaded normally and TOOK Serial#.

When attempting to run now - get a "no valid acrobat serial number found. Acrobat will now quit" message.

Support says dead program - pound sand.

Any thoughts on how to get this install working and accepting what used to work perfectly ?

Hi Mike,

You might want to try the solutions in this document: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-no-valid-acrobat-serial.html I realize it doesn't specifically say Acrobat 5 in the title, but I think the steps will help.

Thnaks for the URL - SUCCESS !

Stopped services w/MSConfig and rooted out the adobe products manually - after clean reboots and reinstalls - we are fully back.

While not referencing 5 directly - the generic info was dead on.
