Links from the forums on google

Hi,

 

Just working on some redirects for my site and noticed that when I posted a link to my black room on this forum, the link has been indexed on google.

 

This is the developement site and I do not think it is right or appropriate for the general public to see it.

 

How do I stop that from happening.

    Hi Paul, what do you mean "Black Room" ?

    These are open forums so any links you do post will get piced up by google.

    If someone is offering to help you and you do not want to share a link you can post a private message to them for example.

    That is a good idea.

     

    Blackroom appears to be where my development site is "domain.blackroom.com.au"....  I was under the impression this is not indexed and is private.

    If you are not the partner and owner of that website, it is the development url for any new websites before you take the domain live.

     

    BC is working to put in some 301 redirect elements in place further to their robots.txt to stop these being indexed by google. If you link them publically of course bots will see them.

    Ahh, so your a new partner, Welcome. Always one thing to make sure you mind is the develpment URL links when you getting clients in and one thing to make sure they do not go around posting it everywhere when you give them the preview link to their new site your building for them.

    Thanks, I think...

     

    I paid for a template, and the hosting, not sure if that is a partner but I am not developing anyone elses site but mine...

    Just to clear up what I meant:

     

    These people: http://blackroom.com.au are likely Adobe BC partners so have rebranding options to rebrand things like the URL. If you went directly through Adobe Business Catalayst your domain url for development would be yoursite.businesscatalyst.com
