Flash Player Bug/Glitch?

First of all, I want to say sorry if this isn't in the right place. This is my first post here and I am just needing help with a problem I'm having.

 

I am using Google Chrome as my browser, and I have the latest version of Flash Player installed.

 

A few weeks ago, I turned off the Hardware Acceleration setting to see what it would do. I closed my browser, and reopened it. I didn't see much of a difference, so I re-enabled the Hardware Acceleration, but one thing I did notice was that a tab in the right click menu was gone (image below). It continued to stay like that even when I re-enabled the Hardware Acceleration.

Another thing I noticed was (probably because the tab is gone), no more local shared objects are being saved to my computer. When I try to access some Flash content lately, sometimes Shared Objects are required in order to run the content, which makes this really annoying.

 

I have Googled around for a while now, and I have not found any solutions on how to fix this. I couldn't even find anyone else with this issue.

 

I have tried uninstalling, then reinstalling, and I have tried emptying out the Flash Player folder of %appdata%\Adobe and %appdata%\Macromedia.

 

I have also tried tweaking the settings of the Global Manager thing to allow Local Shared Objects to be stored on my computer, but when it doesn't save my selection.

 

Any help on solving this issue would be very much appreciated!

    Could you try running Chrome with all extensions turned off to see if you still are unable to create LSO's?  I've found that One-Click Extensions Manager is pretty good at doing this quickly.  Also, could you try another browser (IE or Firefox) just to verify if it works there?

    I just ran Chrome without extensions being enabled, but it still doesn't let me create LSOs.

     

    Internet Explorer didn't have Flash Player installed for some reason, so when I tried to view Flash content in that browser, I had to reinstall Flash Player. Once it was reinstalled, it worked fine.

     

    I would still like Flash Player to work in Chrome, because browser switching for me isn't an option for me.

    So, IE was able to create LSOs.  How odd.  If you were to delete the %appdata%\Adobe and %appdata%\Macromedia folders, then run Chrome, do you see folders and files being created?  Can you tell me what version of Chrome and Flash Player you are using?

    Yes, folders and files are being created.

    Chrome: 20.0.1132.47 m

    Flash Player: 11.3.300.257

    Can you also verify that "allow local data to be set" is selected when you go to chrome://chrome/settings/content?

     

    You might want to google how to reset Chrome to it's defaults.  I'm running the same version as you but haven't seen this occur.

    "Allow local data to be set" is selected. I'll Google that and try it. Would it be better if I was to uninstall Chrome, then reinstall?

    Possibly, but I'm not sure how well they clean up setting files created after the initial installation.

    After a little bit of Googling, like you said to do, I found out how to restore Chrome to it's default state.

     

    In the future, if anyone else encounters this issue, here is the fix on Windows 7 with Chrome:

    Note: I lost all my bookmarks, saved passwords, extensions, etc. (which I should've expected), so you might want to keep a backup of those before you do this.

     

    1. Close Google Chrome.
    2. Click the start button.
    3. Type run.
    4. Press enter. (Run dialog box should now be opened)
    5. Type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data
    6. Delete the Default folder.

     

    The next time you open Google Chrome, everything will be restored to it's default settings.
