CS6: Direct Selection Preview?

I just installed CS6, and it seems that I cannot preview a direct selection anymore.  I get the frame to resize and rotate, but it doesn't actively preview the linked image/file as it did in CS5.  I cannot find the setting, nor can I find any documentation on this.

Is there a setting so I can have my link preview back?

As reference, I have OSX 10.6.8.

Thank you for your help.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're referring to unless you're talking about live screen drawing. That's a preference setting that you can change back to immediate from delayed.

Just be aware that that setting has been known to cause a performance hit which is why the default was changed.

If you leave it on delayed you get the best of both worlds. No hit to performace when you don't need it, and if you clcik and hold for a moment before dragging you enter "patient user mode" and the preview shows up.
