I just made a blue ray with 8 short films on it just like all the other times. For some reason the skip button is not working. I did not add any chapter markers or anything. It just suppose to play from 1 timeline to the next and so on. It will do this but I cannot skip aheah to the next film. I can fast forward but not skip. Any ideas? Thank you for any help
Could you post a screenshot of the navigation structure?
Pressing the Next button on the remote control should skip to the next chapter or the end action of the timeline if there are no chapters.
I found the problem. I am just not sure how to solve it. Anytime i edit the length of a movie in the timeline it prohibits me from skipping once i make the blue ray. This does not seem to be the case when i make a normal dvd just a blue ray. Any ideas on how to solve it
Is the movie you are shortening already transcoded? Are there multiple videos on the same timeline? Just curious, and if yes to either, I would see that as an area to consider.
The usual answer: "don't do that." Edit the length in the video editing app (Premeire).
While you can adjust the length in Encore, odd things seem to happen. I have not tested this, since I try to avoid anything that increases the likelihood of Encore having issues.
Thanks Stan......Yes the movie was transcoded but there was only one movie on the timeline. I guess I will just have to trim it in another program like you suggested through i will try untranscoding and retranscoding again.
I think its not about whether the asset was transcoded or not. Its about just trimming. If you trim the timeline anytime (before or after transcoding), the Skip to next timeline won't work. This is a bug.
Workaround is as suggested by Stan, make the lenght adjustments in some editing tool loke Premier Pro and then bring the asset in En after that.
Nope, it also got missed in CS6. Generally people tend to make all kind of duration related changes or any other edits prior to bringing the asset in Encore using any editing tool like Premier Pro.
Are you not using CS6?
Thanks for the help Ramesh. No I am on CS5 here. Sometimes when I am stringing short movies together someone says can we take a few black frames off the end of the movie. It was faster to just do it in encore but I will just make sure it gets done before when start importing into encore.
