Sorry about the name. I am new to this program and I tried to join for an hour without success then my hubby took over!!! Now to my serious headache causing problem. After editing photos I saved them to my folder exactly as Adobe Help suggests, in Jpeg format. I can see them in my folder but the icon is blank and Properties suggest they are File format and not Jpeg. What am I doing wrong and how can I correct it...please?
Thank you for your replies. I have attached a screen shot. These pictures have been edited in Elements 10 then saved as jpeg but when I check them in my folder on my desktop they are blank as you can see. If I try to open them I am asked to choose a prog. If I choose Elements10 it says they cannot be opened because they are the wrong file types. If I right click on a photo and scroll to the bottom to Properties, right click on it, I can see the File type is File not jpeg. The photos which actually have a picture on the front (as they should have) come up in Properties as JPG File (.jpg)
I hope this helps you to help me. Thank you
Thank you, I have just sent a screen shot as requested by one answer (not too sure how this discussion/help page words) does that answer your question?
Do you want the …..Type of File which is followed by File
I definitely followed Help suggestions for saving as a Jpeg
Thanks for trying for me
Sorry no image here. You can’t send a screen shot by email. You need to log-in to the forum and when you click reply, you then click on the little camera icon. Browse to your screenshot, click open, then click upload. What are your original photos? Are they imported into Elements from a camera? How do you edit them?
Can you try an experiment. 1. Open Full Edit by clicking the edit button on the welcome screen. 2. On the menu click File à Open 3. Then open one of your images that has not been edited previously 4. Make a quick edit e.g. on the menu click Enhance à Auto Levels 5. Then on the menu click File à Save As 6. In the save as dialog click the dropdown for Format 7. Choose jpeg from the list and save. Let us know if that is working OK. Click to view
Hi again. Those instructions were the exact steps I have been taking when I got those strange File formats. I did as you asked and it worked……perfectly!!! I am crying in frustration. Great that works and I tried two more and they worked too but why did I keep on getting blanks? Sorry, I should just move on and be grateful. By the way, I did try to follow your instructions for posting a screen print but got stuck when trying to find the camera icon. I was about to try the button on my keyboard (never used it before) when your new email came through.
Thank you so much for your patience.
