Import problem with version 2.7

Jun 30, 2012 1:30 PM

Import images problem with Lightroom version 2.7, on  a Mac OSx.  Unable to import from desktop or the download card.  .  All other functions of the program work.  I have tried reinstalling and also using the backup file, with no luck   Have over 30,000 images on the program.  Is there some sort of limit with this earlier version?

No, there isn't a limit on the number of files. When did this start happening? Are the images you are trying to import raw images? What camera produced the images? Are you receiving any kind of error message? If so, what is it?

    Which version of OSX?

Can you post a screen shot of the Import Menu please.

Thanks, to do a screen shot use shift+cmd+4 to get the cursor to select the area of your screen you want. Esc resets the cursor.

Do you use a card reader to download?

Not that I see it being the issue here but using a cable from the camera is not the best way to d/load as it seems to be a source of problems.

You nood to use the camera icon in the top menu of the Reply window to upload it.

Mmmmm, I think the best thing to do would be to remove the Preference file to the desktop with Lightroom closed and restart Lightroom by double clicking on your catalog file (not the Lightroom icon).

The Lightroom prefernce file is in User/Library/Preferences.

Your catalog would be in Pictures/Lightroom if it is in the default location.

Geoff,  Have to sign off for now.  Family arriving from out of town.  I'll check back in tomorrow hopefully.  Thanks for your patience and help.

PS Are you from New Zealand?  One of my friends has an old buddy from New Zealand from his navy days.
