I recently installed InDesignCS4 on my old compter because I messed up the Registry in Windows7. I can see InDesign is an installed program in Control Panel. but there is no InDesign Program listed in my programs when I click on Start. It simply is not there. I un-installed it but could not de-activate it first....could not do that because I could not load the program. Should I re-install it again on my old computer in order to de-activate it? Or should I just do a new install on my new computer. Thanks for your help... Loren Sr
It upto you. If you wan to use ID on your old computer, you can insall it. However, if you want to use ID only on your new machine, then you can only insall tha on the new one.
By default, you get two activations, that means, you can install that application on 2 machines.
So, you can use ID on your 2nd machine without any issues but in case in future you need to use it on any other machine then you need o de-activate any one of them.
Thank you Arpit Kapoor. I understand that you can have it only installed on one computer. I believe I uninstalled it a year or so ago without de-activating so I don't want to go through that again. I guess I will go ahead and try to install in the new machine...if I have problems I will have to contact Adobe Tech Support. Thanks again for your reply.
