I guess you've been using the 4.1 Release Candidate, which expired at midnight on June 30th. Suggest you download and install the 4.1 final version, and you should find everything will work as normal.

Have you previously purchased and installed LR4? And have you registered it yet? The serial number should have been supplied to you as part of the purchase (either on the DVD Package if you purchased that way, or via email if you purchased via online download).

    Serena,

go to www.adobe.com and log on - your purchase history page (My orders > My order history) will show the serial number.

It doesn't sound as though you've actually purchased the upgrade to LR4, is that correct? In which case you need to do so.....

The upgrdae will require your previous version serial number as well as the new LR4 serial number, but if you have not uninstalled LR3 then the LR4 upgrade process will find it automatically.

And 4.1 will likely run as a 30 day trial in the meantime, once you've installed the 'proper' version from the links above.

I really wish I could suggest something else Serena, but I'm just an end-user, like you.

    Sorry.

Have you downloaded LR4.1 using the links supplied earlier? What happens when you try to install? Do you get the option to use it as a 30-day trial, or has that expired?

What operating system are you using? Even though you have uninstalled LR3 it is possible that the registration file (which will contain the serial number) is still on your system. I know the location of it on Windows7, but not on a Mac.

I hope your problem is fixed...I purchased and have been using 4 for months...and with the update as I have a Canon 5DIII...now I'm getting the same message which is total $#@%^&**...all I know to do is reinstall...I did a Mac update last night and am wondering if that is the cause...

It has been well publicised that the Beta/Release Candidate would expire at the end of June.

All you need to do is download and install Lr 4.1.

Please READ my post before advising me about what has been well publicized...I downloaded 4.1 previously...

Check your applications folder and see how many versions of Lightroom you have installed. It is possible you are launching the beta program from the dock.

It still isn't the currently installed version (if you'd READ my post you'd have noticed I mentioned installing the current version).
