Need some direction

Computer can't read 8.3, need it for some printing off internet, tried to down load 10.0 and it's wouldn't let me because of the erro in 8.3

    Which Adobe product are you trying to use?  Is it Adobe Reader?  What operating system are you using?  Do you receive any specific error messages?

    We need to know the exact error messages and some system information or this is going nowhere...
