32 bit tif in ACR 7

Hi, I'm getting a bit confused. I read that 32 bit tif files can be preprocessed in ACR7. When I try to open them in Bridge they are passed directly into CS6. Standard 16 bit files do open in ACR7.

    Not sure I understand the question as don't know about "preprocessing".  Bridge now comes in 64 and 32 bit versions.

     

    If running 64 bit everyhing will open in ACR 64 bit.

    thanks Curt, I have checked and am running 64 bit bridge and CS6.

     

    there is a further bit of mystery, I generated a 32 bit Radiance file using Photpmatix which I then converted to a 32 bit Tiff  as a test. This opened in Bridge, allowing me to use the 'basic' ACR panel to apply initial adjustments (which is what I meant by 'preprocessing'.). What is really odd is that if I generate the same image using 'Merge to HDR' in CS6 and save as Tiff, it only opens in CS6 as I indicated in my first post.

    I prefer  'Merge to HDR ' over Photomatiox because I find it allows me to generate what I think are better photorealistic panoramas. I was curious to see if direct processing of the 32 bit image in ACR gave me any significant benefit before I converted to 16 bit in CS6.

    Your question is a little over my head, so just a guess in that perhaps merge to HDR only operates in 16 bit mode?

     

    I would rewrite the last post a little and post in the photoshop forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/general as users there are much more versed in these type of operations.
