I am using Acrobat 9 Pro, scanning documents, and trying to make basic corrections to the OCR as it comes in. ClearScan says that it creates text, and indeed I have been able to add text to the hidden layer by placing my cursor on the image and typing... however, I'm not actually able to see the text as I type! The cursor doesn't move. I can only see my text if I double-click "Show Preview" under "Hidden Text" in the "Examine Document" sidebar, and in that case, I cannot edit it.
Surely there is a way to see and edit the hidden text layer? If not, why has Adobe not provided this functionality in Acrobat Pro?
You could also try using the Content Pane to edit the text. For more information on how to do this check out the tutorial How to edit PDF files using Acrobat’s Content pane.
