Problem uploading/downloading 'fillable' file

I have been sent a link to an uploaded file. It says it is a 'fillable' PDF form and please 'download or open the file ... to fill it out'. It has been filled out by the person who uploaded it and in the preview I can see what they have entered. But when I open the document, the text she has entered is not present and it opens blank for me to fill in. What do I need to do so that I can read the text that has been filled in, or what do I need to tell the uploader to do?

It's hard to say without seeing the file in question. Can you post the link?

Was the form filled out with Preview on a Mac?

I tried opening the file on a different computer and it opened fine. Thanks for your help, though, George and Bernd!
