I have just installed Production Suite cs6 for Windows 7. I am working in
PS and am trying to save files into the favorites like in my windows folder
setup. When I save in After Effects CS6 I get that option, but in PS and
IL, I do not. Is there a way to change the options in PS to be like in AE?
Attached in a photo of AE on the left and PS on the right in their save
windows and it looks like PS has just the icons available while AE has a
different look all together. Possibly the “Classic” look.
I just switched from Mac b/c Apple never updated to new Power Macs, just
the bandaid that they recently did.
I am not even sure what to call this. I am assuming the “Navigation pane.”
I'm not at my CS6 machine at the moment so I can't check, but unless there is a pref for it, I don't think you can enforce the favorites/ location bar even in CS6. As long as they support XP officially, they have to compromise and choose the basic file dialogs....
What is odd is I can enforce it in After Effects but not Photoshop. I just want to be able to access my file locations more directly. AE uses my same setup for my folders as Windows. Photoshop uses an abbreviated icon set up it looks like. you can click on the photo above and see a close up of what I am referring to.
Marsh, it seems that After Effects does not support XP anymore, so they might not need to use the basic file dialog anymore. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements- effects.html

There might be a lot of logic in your XP statement support, as AE, and PrPro have both gone to 64-bit ONLY, as of CS 5.
Would never have thought of that.
I know Adobe resources are invariably spread thin, but take it from a software developer: The software could choose two different dialogs, depending on which system it's being run upon. It's not really a valid excuse as it is.
If Adobe doesn't have the manpower to complete the product on time, rather than leaving the product incomplete maybe it should think about hiring some additional talent?
I upgraded to CS6 from CS3, totally looking forward to this particular feature, only to find that it hasn't been implemented yet! How long has Windows 7 been out now?? Please please please Adobe, can you add the Favorites folder to our Save dialogues? It would save soo much time for those of us who work with many files and many clients.
