Browse through a multiple page PDF 'after' it's imported into ID to select the right page

Jul 3, 2012 12:02 AM

If I forget to click on the checkbox 'import options' while importing a PDF into ID, and the PDF has multiple pages, is there a possibility to browse through those pages within the PDF after it is imported into the layout? For example, it automatically places the first page of the PDF, but I should have had the third page of the same PDF. Can I switch while it's already in place?

    Yes.

    1. Open the Links Manager (Window>Links)
    2. Find the PDF in question (clicking on the PDF on the page should highlight the correct link in the Links window, or just click on it in the window if you know which one it is)
    3. Click the Relink icon in the window, or choose Relink from the window's fly-out menu
    4. Navigate back to the same PDF, but check the Show Import Options box before you hit OK. Here, you can choose which page of a multi-page PDF you would like to replace the page-one that is already placed.

Another method is to just select the image frame and import the image again, but check the Show Import Options box in this window instead, but you already know that.
