I have downloaded adobe captivate and get error restart due, all the advice states remove the inprogressket! Having checked there is no key to delete! I have searched the harddrive and no file is present! I can see loads of people with same issue and unable to find and delete file! so first anyone have an answer? second adobe remove this check from download it is causing more trouble than it's worth?
Have you run Windows update to verify there is no updates available or pending installation? As for removing this check it would not be possible as we need to utilize the Windows Installer service ourselves to install. If it is already busy trying to or preparing to install an update then it is unavailable to our installers or any other installer utilizing this feature.
I am not computer literate so fall instructions as set down. I have spend hours downloading all windows updates, there is nothing left pending, I have searched every location that points to the 'inprogresskey' and there is not one to be found. If I have nothing to update and I can't find the inprogresskey what is the problem your software will not load as it thinks a reboot is pending. Note - because it is not a straight forward download and install it is pushing me away from adobe? What else can I do before I abandon the installation.

With an exact error message I could be more certain however.
