Hello: OS: Windows 7 64bit
I am working on a tut that says after drawing a line to > hold down the Alt & Shift keys and drag the line down.
I did this once and it worked fine. However, I had some other problems which I resolved but I had to start over and now the above will not Duplicate the line nor can I move it in the above manner.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your time ![]()
Manish...
Thank you for your reply ![]()
I tried the Selection tool as well as just about everything else.
I had written an other post about my layers dialog having no information which was finally fixed asfter a long call to Adobe.
It was after that when the Alt + Shift + Drag stopped working.
However, on my other post Wade Zimmerman (sp?) gave me a suggestion to fix the above problem. I'll stop back & luk if his solution is the answer.
Thank you again for taking the time to answer me ![]()
Hello there ...
Yes, I will give you the case number but I cannot get it at the moment because my Yahoo mail doesn't seem to want to cooperate at the moment.
I will try again 2mar as it is waaaay past my bedtime.
Sorry I didn't see your response until now.
The case was closed so, will you still be able to receive the information?
Any way, I will remember to post the case # 2mar

Okay, going to check my email

Okay, I am back ...
Here's the case number: 0183386847
I hope this helps.
Please let me know that it's the right one. I went by the date of my post and the date the email was received in my inbox.
Also, I did try Wades' suggestion but that didn't work.
If I recall correctly there was an issue or two with the settings on my computer. Forinstance they fixed the drag setting with my mouse.
After their repair the Alt + Shift + Drag did work but it stil doesn't grab Line shapes nearly as well as all the other shapes.
Be well,
Kara
Kara,
As I said in the other thread, in some cases, just renaming/moving the AIPrefs file is not enough.
You may try to Move the folder with Illy closed, in other words move the whole folder containing the AIPrefs file. If it fails to make a difference, you may move it back and regain your preferences, so it is reversible.
Hey there ...
I recall that as well as the Preferences having been reset that my computer also had two mouse connections that were conflicting and that there was a drag issue which was preventing me from being able to grab the line.
I may have given you the wrong case number. I had called the on Monday July 2nd and then again on Tuesday the 3rd.
# for the 2nd is: 0183382770 and for the 3rd: 0183386847
The two cases go hand in hand.
I wish I could do a screen shot for you but the keys on my laptop between F1 and Print Screen have stopped working. I am actually planning to buy a new computer next week.
Well, again ... thank you for your help ![]()
