Setting up a new project  (CS4)

Jul 3, 2012 11:24 AM

Hello everyone!

Sorry to ask such a silly question but I am really struggling with this.

I have CS4 and I have taken some videos with my OLYMPUS PEN PL-2 using the camera default settings.

When I import the videos in Premiere, they don't feet in the screen.  Sometimes they are way too big or way too small and I have no idea what settings I need to chose when I start the project.

What are the settings I need to choose here?

As I do not know the footage from the Oly PEN PL-2, it might be useful if you post the detailed info from one of those files, when you run it through MediaInfo. That will dictate what Sequence Preset you should use, even if you have to choose the Desktop and Custom Preset, then adjust the parameters to fit the footage.

    Good luck,

    Hunt

    Link is dead.

    You either set up:

    HD: 1280(H)x720(V)  Aspect 16:9

    SD: 640(H)x480(V)     Aspect 4:3

as a custom preset depending of which you shot.

And install the Mjpeg code otherwise it wont work.

You can ignore the left pane.

Go to General and choose the Desktop setting from the Editing dropdown menu.

Now set everything the same as your clip.

As i said Desktop it is at the top.

    From there set everything manually.

You have all the info for your clip in the 3rd post.
