Can not delete colour swatch in Illustrator CS5.5

Jul 3, 2012 1:29 PM

I can not delete some of the swatches (PMS colours) from the dock. I've tried to search for any artwork that may contain the colour, but I could not find anything. When I open Swatch Options it only lets me change Color Mode. Swatch name and color type are greyed out no matter what color mode I choose. I've tried to copy and paste the artwork in a new document, restart Illustrator but the problem persist. Any idea how I can delete them? Thank you.

I work on Mac OS x 10.6.8..

By dock do you mean the Swatches panel? Have you tried the Delete Unused Panel Items action from the Action panel. They can also be in Symbols or Brushes but if you run the action it will delete them in order so that the color swatches are deleted last and if they were in a Symbol, Graphic Stlye or Brush with the original gone they should delete. Also make sure that everything is visible and unlocked.

As well as what Larry says, select and delete stray points. These may carry spot colours, styles etc.
