Why wont Adobe work?

I used 2 have Adobe flash player but my partner deleted it for some reason, i downloaded Adobe flash player version 11.3 to play a gam and it still says i need Adobe flash player 10 or higher to play how do i fix this? and when i click play a message pops up readin: DOM exception: SYNTAX err (12) whats this and how do i fix this aswell?   please get back to me asap thanks.
