Is it possible to overlap pullout tabs?

Has anyone been able to overlap pull out tabs? I have a layout that contains 5 tabs that pull down from the top of the screen, each tab has an area that is the full width (768px). Because the first tab stretches the width of the screen, it appears to block the other tabs, preventing them from being pulled down. I've tried cropping the container frame around the other tabs but that doesn't seem to work.

Has anyone found a workaround to this? Screenshot attached to illustrate my issue.

That’s not going to work. Only one tab can be on top and that’s the one that will work.

Try an MSO.

Could you not stagger them? so that the far left tab has full width, the one in from that has slightly less and so on so forth, so the user can still pull the tabs down?

Interesting idea, but because the fish fall into various categories, I need the full width so when users pull down the tab, only the fish in that category are highlighted in full color/detail.

Ahh - I did think of the problems my idea might create for the pre existing content!

Hmm, there will be a workaround - Just have to get our thinking heads on!

From your description I would go with an MSO.

I think you better try with an MSo, as Bob said, just make the text appear when you click on a fish, making butons.

I think from this thread we all know what would be the best option. It might be the best - but It's not what the original poster wanted to do

Think outside the box guys and try something new.

If you manage to do the job with four tabs it can be put on every side of the screen:top, down, left and right. Sorry, but for the moment no solution for the five tabs.

That is not going to work either. The frames will stil overlap.

Yes Bob, you´re right as usual .
I´m trying different things but nothing seems to works, just ended withthe same result Tiim says in the 4 reply, but i´m not giving in, there is always a way to do the things, i´ll keep trying when i have enought time (always a problem).

Does edge have the capabilities to drag objects? that would be a great place to start!

The May issue of Appliness (free) includes a drag and drop jquery example with a link for downloading the source code.

So, in using an MSO, the content would "appear" instead of drag out, yes? There is no way to have it look like it is being pulled out without it actually being a pull-out tab/scrolling frame, is there? I know that seems silly, but if I could even achieve the look of pull-out tabs, I would be happy

A convoluted way might be to build an MSO with a series of frames, each one moving the tab further into the frame. If you set it to auto play it would appear to slide in. But to me, that would go against the object's obvious usability. I would think a user would expect to slide a tab, not tap it.

I agree. I am trying to see if the layout will adjust to have the tabs still stacked, but now just have each tab pull out and then have a vertical scrolling frame so the user can view the full content, but not sure how it will fly to have them pull and then scroll.
