Import snags LR4.1

I get a "could not be read" msg while trying to import NEF files to my new iMac. Running 10.7.4 and LR4.1, Camera Raw 7. It doesn't happen every time. To date, the only solution is to restart my computer and then I'm able to import the image files.

Is this with a camera cable, internal card reader, external card reader or direct from a hard drive?

Importing via external card reader. And this did not occur with my MacBook Pro running OS10.7.4 and the same version of LR

If restarting the computer is the only solution then the problem isn't with Lightroom. Check your card reader on a different computer. If problem doesn't occur on the second system then there's a possiblity that the issue is with the iMac.

If it's the iMac … what would the issue be? It's just two months old.
