Hello everyone,
I'm a pretty new user, I just installed Adobe Premiere Pro, but I can't import any videos to edit. I've tried .ts and a couple quicktime files and I always get this message:
"No importer found that supports this file type"
Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
What is a CODEC... a Primer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/546811
What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
.
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... a screen

First, you are in the wrong forum for PPro v7 (early naming confusion... PPro 1 was also called 7)
Your old, 32bit software, has a forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous?view=o verview
>What do you mean by codec wrapper?
Read at the links I posted in message #3
Glad that Jeff got you moved to the correct forum.
The first two links that John T. posted will give you all of that information. I would start with the first, "Problem with AVI File... " and read it. Then, for some more background on CODEC's, the building blocks of Audio/Video files, see the "CODEC's a Primer," as it goes in more detail.
If you have any problem understanding the concepts and details in either of those two articles, please let me know, and we can go into more detail, on any aspect.
Good luck, and believe me, with Video editing, every moment spent learning about CODEC's, and how they are contained within file formats, will be time well-spent.
