Removing hyperlinks from a PDF document

Occassionally, I have copied down images from my suppliers web sites to paste into word documents. I then convert these word documents to PDF and email my customer.  When I put the image into a word document, I remove the hyperlink; however, if I then convert the document into a PDF the hyperlink reappears.  Is there a way I can permanently remove the link?

What do you mean by hyperlink? Are you talking about the ALT text for an image which appears when you hover over it? That's controlled by Word, not Acrobat.

Acrobat and Reader will hotlink any text that matches a URL pattern - though that will not apply to text within an image. It's a preference the person reading the PDF can turn off but the document author cannot.

You should be able to use the link tool to remove the links. There may be a preflight tool that could do the link removal, but I have not checked.

Try using the "Remove hidden Information" feature of Acrobat. That should get rid of everything that isn't directly visible.
