Displayed picture is brighter in LR

Doing some editing work on b&w pics, I noticed that the picture displayed by LR (4.1) is a lot brighter than in Photoshop (CS6) or in Topaz' b&w Effects.

Haven't tried to print yet, but I was wondering if I missed something...

Any clue?

In which module? And if you go to Develop module, hold down shift and press Reset (Adobe), does it match?

It was in Library. After a Shift-Reset the match is there again!

Great. Now you might find that happens again in future, and there are 2 reasons it could happen.

1. Check Preferences dialog > Presets tab and check that 'apply auto tone' isn't checked.

2. With one of the problem photos selected, go to Develop module > Develop menu > Set Default Settings and press the Restore Adobe Defaults in case you changed them accidentally.
