I can see files on the renote server, but I can't download

In Dreamweaver I can see the files on the remote server, and they are all set to 777, chmod did not work either, but I can't download any of them in dreamweaver via ftp. When I tried using filzilla, the only file visible was the index file which I could download with filzilla, but the other files I can see with dreanweaver did not show in filezilla. I even set filezilla to force hidden files and they did not show. How can I download the files I can see in Dreamweaver? Can anyone help? If anyone needs more info let me know. I know ths one is a real stumper, but it is important that I find an answer. If I'm posting in the wrong forum please let me know. Thanks

    Does anyone think it would help if I got access to the remote server and tried to set permissions again? Right now they are 777 which means I should be able to do anything with them, but i can't.

    Personally, I would trust what I see in Filezilla over what I see in DW. So from that point of view, the question would be... "why am I seeing these files in DW?".

    Start by contacting your hosting service. Nearly all good hosting services provide customer service that could quickly tell you what your file structure looks like on the server.

    Thanks for the reply, but I know the other files exist because the index uses a sendmail file which is in the folder so I know that one exists at least. I am trying to get root access to the server so I can hopefully see what's going on with those files.. Thanks anyway.
