I'm now getting the error message: "The following files were not imported because they could not be read (189)." Not sure why this would appear after years of successfully importing. Thanks for any ideas!

Keith, nothing has changed. Same camera and card. I get the same message trying to import from my iPhone. That has previously worked as well. Is there a way to reset to defaults?
im getting the same problem,without the 189 message,does it show its uploaded the previews as mine does, but will not upload the files.If i get a solution i will let u know. thanks Tim
That message often (yeah, I know, it's dumb) means that the files couldn't be written. Check permissions on the disks and folders that you are copying to.
Tim, the (189) showed the number of files not imported. I changed the place to import from /user to /user/pictures and they all came in. I hope you get a similar easy fix.
Hal, I wasn't sure exactly what folder the pix were supposed to go to, nor how to check permissions, but I changed the destination from /user to /user/pictures and they all came in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
thanks for your reply,tried again to import for out of the six pics imported but could not read the others,took the pics at the same time and sent to the same location .many thanks Tim
