Okay, I've disabled "Browser Record" in Real Player and 11.3.300.262 still crashes my Firefox 13.0.1 on Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.  10.2 works just fine.

Thanks for the feedback.  We definitely want to get any lingering crashes fixed.  We're working on a couple other stability fixes, but we definitely want to know if what you're running into is something we're tracking.  Anything you can tell us that might help us reproduce the crash would also be helpful.  It's about a million times easier to fix something that we can see in action.

The following information would be super helpful.  The first step you can do without changing your Flash Player version, in case you've already reverted.

1.) Type "about:crashes" in your address bar, and copy the links for the time period where you encountered the crash.

2.) Please temporarily disable other plugins.  Click Firefox > Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled

3.) Try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Flash Player.  Details are the Solve Video Problems section, here:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html

4.) If the issue persists, please disable Hardware Acceleration in Firefox:

Click the orange Firefox button

Click Options

Under General, uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available

5.) Attach the output of dxdiag.exe

Okay, here goes:

Firefox 13.0.1, Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2.

2) All plugins temporarily disabled as of 8:10 pm (two minutes before the

last two crash reports; yes, the 11.3 r300 still crashed Firefox; I had

Windows Task Manager open so I could watch it happen).

3) Went to

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html) in

Firefox with 11.3 r300 262. The HTML5 video played flawlessly; the

non-HTML5 video crashed and hung up Firefox until I used Task Manager to shut

down 262. Under "Solve video playback issues", I right-clicked on the red

FlashPlayer logo, selected Display, and tried to uncheck the box for "Enable

hardware acceleration" and the browser locked up again. (Those are the

crashes shown at 8:30 pm.)

4) Went to Firefox and unchecked the "use hardware acceleration when

available" box. Closed FF, opened it again, went to a page with YouTube videos

and other Flash software

(_http://my.firedoglake.com/kitoconnell/2012/06/25/watercooler-turing/_

(http://my.firedoglake.com/kitoconnell/2012/06/25/watercooler-turing/) ) and the Flash locked up the browser until I killed it in

Windows Task Manager.

5) dxdiag.exe run and output attached.

Hope this helps you find the culprit. Note that FF 13.0.1 runs just fine

with Flash 10.2.

Thanks, this is helpful.  I'm building a Vista Home Premium SP2 box now to see if I can reproduce.

I don't see the dxdiag attachment, though.

Okay, thanks for that URL.  I can reproduce the crash.

I've opened a bug: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3224450, and I'll get someone to take a look in the morning.

Here's another site with Flash video that 11.3 r300 262 crashes: http://www.salon.com/2012/06/27/gop_lacks_obmacare_replacement_plan/

HTML5 video runs fine, Flash 262 not at all -- it locks up the browser until I go into Task Manager to kill 262.

Hello Jeromie,

I have been receiving the same error messages. I was using Firefox and I uninstalled it and moved to Google Chrome thinking it would help, but I now keep getting the messages over and over, even when the website I began getting the errors at is not on.

This is what I got from the crash report window:

szAppName : FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe     szAppVer : 11.3.300.262

szModName : ntdll.dll     szModVer : 5.1.2600.6055     offset : 000113c0

First I thought it was because there was too much data streaming and I set it to unlimited, it keeps messing up with the sound, I have to click pause many times to be able to watch the whole program even though we have a very fast lan connection. It often crashes, too, and I have to kill the application and start over.

It happens on any video I try to watch on

http://globotv.globo.com/

Could you please help?

Thank you so much.

That's a bad one; I tried to watch one video, and my whole system froze completely (Windows 7 Pro, Waterfox 13, Flash Player plugin 11.3.300.262).  I wasn't even able to invoke the Task Manager.

I can get non-HTML5 video to work with Windows Vista, FF 13, and FP plugin

11.3.300.257, but not with 262.
