I always have my auto save in Premiere set from 2 - 3 minutes no matter how short or long the project TRT. Well two days ago (July 3rd) I added some parts to the end credits of a sequence that I spent at least 20 minutes on (enough for autosave to kick in five or six times) and I come back today after the July 4th holiday and those additions are gone. I noticed that my maximum project versions in auto save is only set to 5...so I guess that I'm about to answer half of my own question
With a higher number of Max Project Version saves, I would be able to recall those missing additions now, correct? What is the default folder for CS6 auto saves. Thanks for your help.
I do not think that your old auto-saves are retrievable. Premiere over-writes version 1 after it has written 5, then 2 after 6, and so on at your settings. So if you save every 3 minutes with 5 versions you have only 15 minutes protection!
You need to set the max number of versions to a higher figure in Edit > Preferences > auto-save tab.. I auto-save every 10 minutes and keep 20 versions, and even then I have come to grief on one occasion.
Your auto-saves are in the "Adobe Premiere Pro auto-save" folder which will be located alongside your project file
