The installation is hung up. What do I do now?
You can go under Help>Contact Us and select your product. You will then be given several options to choose from depending on your current difficulites. There will also be links to the forums, chat support, and the relevant phone support for your region.
As for the Invalid Checksum it sounds like Photoshop is still downloading. Is this a purchased product or are you downloading the trial? If it is a trial do you see any messages in the Adobe Download Assistant indicating it is either still downloading or extracting? Also where did you choose to download your install files too, i.e. where are you double clicking to mount Photoshop_13_LS16.dmg?
Thanks for contacting me. I have tried several times after reading the download troubleshooting and tips. I am using a MAC. When I click download the dmg file is placed in the download queue. The download assistant I put on my desktop. When I start that it attempts to open the dmg file and after showing it complete the error message shows up and the download assistant shows still downloading with the completion bar full. I waited over an hour and there was no change.
ELM2007 it sounds like the Adobe Download Assistant is having difficulties saving the install files to the location you have specified. I would recommend completing solution 1 in Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assista nt.html#main_Solution_1. When you reiniate the download I would recommend choosing the default location of your User folder to download the install files too. Once the download is complete you can then install the software to your Applications folder.
Alternately you can follow the steps listed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.
It's me again. I just tried to use the alternate method. It worked fine in that it downloaded the file, "Photoshop_13_LS16.dmg." It shows that the file is 1.08GB and is a disk image.
The next step is to double click on the file to open it. When I do that id shows activity for a minute and then I get the same error. The check sum is invalid.
I clicked OK and it went away.
Still not working.
An invalid checksum is caused due to corruption in the downloaded file. It may be due to a spotty internet connection.
If the download is completed in the Adobe Download Assistant you can temporarily turn off the feature to verify the checksum. The following steps will allow you to temporarily disable this feature:
I would recommend turning this feature back on though after the installation is complete. Also if you notice this happening on additional files it can indicate a problem with your Internet connection.
If the install is successful, remember to enable verify checksums.
I went into the utilities and varified. It gave a check sum error. Then I selected repair and it gave an ok. I revarified and it said, ok. So, I tried all again and got the check sum error. Then I did as Vikrant Rai suggested and turned on the verify. When I double clicked the file it launched and installed properly. I'm up and running.
