Disappearing cursor CS6 mac (InDesign worst)

I'm using a number of CS6 applications on a mac (10.7.4, 2GHz Core i7, 8GB Ram) and am finding that my mouse cursor keeps disappearing.

I can hover over items and they react, I can select items, I just can't see the cursor unless I click outside the application, it appears again and all is normal.

It happens randomly and not too often. It would suggest that there is another application that might be interfering but I am now making sure that all other applications are not running when using CS6 (but it recurs).

I wanted to know if any other user is finding the same issue, I tried to find a general CS6 forum, but couldn't find one and as it's worst in InDesign, I am posting here.

I am currently using InDesign the most and have found this issue to be reasonably common. However is has happened in Photoshop and Premiere.

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Since you're finding this to be a problem, and the vast majority of people aren't, it probably relates to the mouse you're using. What kind of mouse? Have you tried a different mouse? (For example, I'm using the same operating system in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop on two different Macs with two different mice, and I have no such problems.)

Here's a previous thread about problems with the Magic Mouse and InDesign:

This morning we were browsing my childs school webpage on Safari, and this happen - cursor kept disappearing, but mouse was working just we couldn't see where is it.

Then it is Magic Mouse playing tricks.

My mouse is only 7months old. just found that it should have 1yr warranty.

I have the same problem. I don't have a magic mouse- I use a wacom intuos tablet. It is an old one, a GD 1, but it's been working well in Lion. The cursor disappears in Photoshop and Illustrator, but also when using non-Adobe apps. It seems to mostly affect the Adobe apps because that's where I usually am. It happened in CS5, too.

I run Lion in a 2.8 GHz QuadCore tower with 6GB memory. With two monitors, the cursor usually only vanishes from one.  I click around both screens, in to and out of the app, and the cursor reappears. I have had it vanich while using a microsoft optical USB mouse.

This is a real pain, though I've been workig with it for a while and apparently will continue to do so.

I posted this on a separate thread.... Seem that this problem is more than just Magic Mouse related...

I completely relate to this issue and it happens to me while using both my mouse and pen and notice it the most while working in CS5 apps. The ones I use most often are inDesign, Ai and PS. At times I also loose the cursor on the desktop trying to go from one window on the left screen to another window on the right screen.  I would LOVE to find the cause.  Right now, the only way I get my cursor back is by clicking on the desktop and clicking back into the application.

    I'm running:

    OS X 10.7.4 - up to date

    CS5 - up to date

    Wacom intuous 4 (mouse and pen) updated with Driver 6.3.2-4 for Mac OS X v. 10.7, 10.6 & 10.5 released July 2012

I have an Apple HD Cinema Display (older) as well as a Samsung screen at home.

MacBook Pro 17" and happened as well on my previous 15" 2009 model.
