Can't rename file with modified date

I just found that renaming presets use the "Original/Digitized Date Time", which could differ from the actual Date Time when camera battery deplished and the time got reset, or simply when having DST/Time Zone issues.

 

Is there a way to call the modified time?

I mean... IMHO this should be the default case!

    I'm not completely sure what you are trying to achieve.

    If you simply want to change the capture time for a bunch of images due to the reasons you mentioned, this will help you.:

    Paolo,

     

    LR works the way you want it to. When you modify the Date/Time, the Date/Time Original gets modified. That is the time that you told LR is the real time that the picture was taken. So the renamed pictures end up with the proper time embedded in the filename.

    That's odd. I opened this post because Lightroom used the first date of the screenshot in place of the most recent one.

    You can use the RC File Renamer plugin, if you really want use another Date/Time instead of Capture Date/Time (Original) in your filenames.

     

    But, most people would prefer to correct the capture date/time, if need be, then use it in the filename - thus the default.

    As you can read above, I'm trying as well to have the correct date in the file name, not the opposite.

     

    Based upon the screenshot in the OP, what is the "Date Time" filed from the "EXIF" metadata panel?

    Will the real "correct date/time" please stand up?

     

    Perhaps I don't read too good, but generally people want the capture date/time, which is the same as original date/time.

     

    I thought you wanted the "unqualified" date/time, which is more recent (09/04/12). Did I think wrong?

    I may have found the problem...

    I thought the most recent date was the correct one. I then tried to change again the date/hour (set to October 31 2010) just to see what would happen.

     

    Here is the new configuration:

    The new Date Time has been put in "Date Time Original".

    The second field is for the timestamp the camera was on when the I got the shot.

     

    The "Date Time" field seems to be the creation date for the DNG file itself (maybe something changed that via a suboptimal copy process).

     

    In the end... everything works fine, but those field labels are not that clear... are they?
