When I try to install a lensprofile 14 mm canonwith the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader in the window I see the message that is installed, but when I try to launch it in camera raw (with CS6) I cannot find the profile (I downloade the 14 mm Canon)
Lens profiles in Camera-raw and Lightroom are specific to RAW or non-RAW. Does the profile type listed in LPD match the type of images you are attempting to apply the correction to? I believe the lens-corrections area in Photoshop will let you see any profile regardless of image-type (nothing in Photoshop, itself, can be RAW data, still) so if you aren’t sure if the profile installed correctly or not, then check to see if it is listed in Photoshop, itself. If it is, then make sure your image type matches the profile type.
In LPD, is the profile listed as RAW or non-RAW?
Is the image you are applying the profile to RAW or non-RAW?
Is your camera a full-frame camera (5D) but the profile is listed for a crop-frame camera (xxxD, 7D, etc)?
If you are on Windows, check the following location to see if the file is there:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles and its subfolders
The AppData folder is hidden so you may not see it in Explorer but you can type in the name in the Explorer address bar and hit Enter after you’re in your username’s folder.
If the file seems to be under the 1.0 sub-folder, it’s possible the index file is corrupted, so you might try deleting Index.dat and let Photoshop rebuild it the next time you start it up.
