Odd Separated Shape on outline

Jul 9, 2012 9:19 AM

Hey guys,

The oject below has an unwanted small yellow shape on its edge.

Not sure why it is there as an identicle object within the same project doesn't have it!

How can I connect them again so they are one?

Whilst I am doing this is it also possible to connect the other yellow areas in this image so I can recolor them all together whilst testing colors?

I tried using the: Shift+Select all object>Ctrl Click>Group (& tried "Join" also) but doesnt seem to connect them!

Many thanks,

j

    Hi Josh,

Just to be clear, that small yellow edge is SUPPOSED to be part of the bigger blue shape?

I imagine you could select the yellow shape that you currently have selected AND select the blue shape next to it and use Pathfinder's Unify option to connect the objects and make them the same color.

    Josh,

If you hide the yellow path, is the other path full or is something missing?

In the former case, just delete the yellow one.

In the latter case you may use the Pathfinder that unites shapes in your version, but only if there is no gap/misfit between the paths.

If there is, you may cut the yellow path with the Scissors Tool at the ends, then unite (no need to close the yellow path).
