Transferring preferences, etc, between computers?

I'm uninstalling my Creative Suite 4 from one PC (Windows XP Pro) and reinstalling it on another PC (Windows 7).  Is there a way to move all of my preferences (like my own keyboard shortcuts), etc., to my new computer?  Thanks for your input.

You should make sure that your keyboard shortcuts are saved to your workspace, and then transfer your workspace files. More on this here: http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-preferences-support-file-l ocations.html.

Alec, as far as I know shorcut sets are not saved as part of a workspace, but they are saved in a folder alongside in the same directory.

I think the path information for Graphic Squirrel may be easier to understand in Replace Your Preferences. There is no "roaming data folder" in XP (though the path listed in the KB article is otherwise correct).

There's not much point in moving clipboard scrap, or the other items in the C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version [#]\en_US\Caches folder other than the InDesign Saved Data file itself (and even that one is questionable) when moving to a new machine. The rest really aren't "preference" items and will get rebuilt when ID is launched.

Ah, my mistake. I thought they were as you can change between workspaces.

workspaces cover menus and panels/pallettes, but keyboard shortcuts remain available in all workspaces, thank goodness.

I was getting confused, Photoshop gives you the option to change shortcuts between workspaces. InDesign does not.

No problem. This is why I stick to answering questions for just one app.
